Built safe for kids, clear for parents

You shouldn't need to hover over their shoulder to know they're safe. These are real protections built into SmartKidz, not promises, in the same detail you'll find in your parent dashboard.

SmartKidz keeping children safe online

Every message, checked twice

Before Riley ever sees a message, and again before your child sees the reply, an independent safety layer scans it. If anything inappropriate is detected, a safe fallback message is shown instead.

Twelve protections, live today

Not a roadmap: every one of these is running in the platform right now.

What Riley will and won’t say

Riley is built for school-aged kids and nothing else. The guardrails are part of the model’s instructions, not an afterthought.

AI content guardrails

Riley's core rules explicitly block violence, self-harm, drugs, alcohol, sexual content, profanity and hate speech. These rules are built into every single conversation and cannot be overridden.

Jailbreak protection

Multiple filters detect when someone tries to trick Riley into breaking its rules. Phrases like "ignore your instructions" or "pretend you have no restrictions" are caught and blocked instantly, and Riley redirects back to learning.

Age-appropriate content only

Riley helps with schoolwork, explains how things work and shares fun educational facts, and will not discuss adult topics, politics or current events. If a child asks, Riley redirects back to learning.

A closed world

There is no way in and no way out: no strangers, no feeds, no links. Your child only ever talks to Riley.

No social media or external links

The child interface contains zero external links, advertisements or connections to social media. No Facebook, Instagram, TikTok or YouTube. Everything stays inside SmartKidz.

No communication with other users

SmartKidz is not a social platform. Children cannot message, interact with, or even see other users. There are no chat rooms, forums, friend lists or community features.

Isolated child accounts

Each child profile is completely isolated. Children cannot access each other's data. This is enforced at the database level, not just in the app, so it cannot be bypassed.

You see everything

Nothing is hidden from you. Every session, every flag, every blocked message lands in your parent dashboard.

Parent-controlled personalisation

You decide how Riley behaves with your child. Set the learning style, encouragement approach and add specific instructions. Your settings take highest priority.

Full activity monitoring

The analytics dashboard shows every session, subject, topic, accuracy rate and time spent. You get full visibility into what your child has been doing on the platform.

Safety reports for parents

Any time Riley detects or blocks a concerning message, it is logged to your account with a timestamp. You can review all flagged interactions in your dashboard. Nothing is hidden from you.

Privacy, handled the Australian way

Minimal data, kept in line with Australian law, never sold and never used to train third-party models.

Personal information shield

Riley detects and blocks children from sharing personal details like home addresses, phone numbers or email addresses. Any such attempt is immediately flagged to your parent dashboard so you can follow up.

Australian privacy and data handling

Built for Australian families, following the Privacy Act 1988 (Australian Privacy Principles) and the eSafety Commissioner's safety-by-design principles. We collect the minimum needed to run lessons, never sell data, and never use your child's conversations to train third-party models.

We do not sell your child's data and we do not run ads at them. Read the detail in our Privacy Policy.
